This photo was taken at the King Kamehameha Statue on King Kamehameha Day draped with leis. This shot was taken during the draping ceremony on King Kamehameha 2014.

The flowers remain on the King Kamehameha Statue for several days, but after the second day the flowers are in pretty bad shape and do not make for the best photos. On the second day the flowers are still in decent condition, but for the best results on your photos the first day is by far the best day to take a photo of the statue.
The only real problem for taking pictures is that the ceremony takes quite a while and you lose light pretty fast and to get the best results you want the mid day sun on the statue. This photo has about 20% of the total leis on or around the statue so in order to get the best shot with all the leis and flowers it is best t...
