Description
This photo was taken in the last month of the big wave season on the Banzai Pipeline where over 30 surfers were trying to either ride the wave or survive it. There were probably over 100 surfers in the water and almost 30 of them in this photo were trying to get past this swell before they got thrown backwards into the impact zone. This Banzai Pipeline is the deadliest surfing spot in the world it is so dangerous in fact that even a few photographers have died while shooting it.

Eric, Remarkable capture of this event as the surfers as you said try to ride the Banzai Pipeline or survive it. I would go that it looks like the latter. Fantastic action shot with amazing clarity in this photo and I love the foreground with all of the white water kicking up as the waves crash down and roll onto shore. Also love the background with the white caps a top the wave and a gorgeous blue sky as the wave gets ready to curl. Excellent capture, and a great photo, voted, google and FB promoted
